I purchased a new laptop for my daughter to take to University with her in the summer.  Less than two weeks after purchase, in August this year, (bought online from SonyStyle) it stopped working.   It would not boot up.   I contacted Sony Vaio and was told that they would not replace it or give us a refund - they would only offer a repair which they said would take approximately 5 working days.  She still had a few days before she was due back at Uni so we agreed.  We were given no other choice.  Since it was collected on 10 Sepytember 2009 I have made 15 phone calls to Sony, written 5 emails, one letter, filled in an online form of complaint, and been assured that it would be returned "soon" by a Customer Services representative - Mr James O'Brien.  I phone them every few days and do no get calls back.  I have been waiting nearly a month now and cannot get an answer from them as to when it will be returned.   I paid £1,168 for this item and have had no use from it.   I wonder how many other people are currently wrestling with Sony Vaio's poor excuse for customer service.   I will never buy another product for them and will tell anyone who wants to know that in my view they are not a fair or reputable trader.They certainly have not treated myself and my daughter fairly - she is currently at Uni with no laptop - a far cry from what we wanted when we spent the money on a new laptop for her.
