Ligo Electronics

Anonymous — Wed, 10/11/2010 - 12:12pm

I was starting a small business and needed a business phone and a cordless headset. After searching the internet I came across Ligo-electronics who appeared to be offering just what I needed. I ordered a phone and a headset as a package for £204.99 and paid for express delivery. Over a week later the order had not arrived. When prompted, the business did send me the phone and the headset and refunded me the cost of express delivery but I query what would have happened if I did not start asking for the item that I had purchased. When the phone and headset finally arrived the phone did not work.

It took me a number of days to get a response from the company advising me to contact BT for advice and giving me their general number. After trying to contact BT on that number for 3 days I finally gave up and asked for the cost of the phone to be refunded. It took until the end of September for me to obtain a refund. The refund was only £30 (which is insufficient to buy a new phone of the same type) as all of the discount which I received for buying the goods as a package was apportioned to the phone. I think that this is unfair. I have asked the company to split the difference with me but have received no reply.

If you are running a small business and cannot afford to wait for essential items to arrive and then for them not to work for weeks without any indication of whether they will be refunded, I would just go to a "real" retailer and not use a company such as Ligo electronics, which does not offer any technical support, leaves you in limbo for weeks on end and finally gets the benefit of using your money for a month and refunding you the bare minimum for a faulty item.

I have a similar issue, phone

Anonymous — Wed, 22/12/2010 - 7:43pm

I have a similar issue, phone that arrived isn't working at all, just dead, now LiGo does not seem to take responsibility. How is that possible. Their returns form on the web is a scam and coerces you into accepting unfair T&Cs by ticking a box. If you don't you simply can't return the item. LiGo Electronics is in breach with the Sales Of Goods Act 1979 but to enforce it it looks like a small claims court affair. Furthermore LiGo Electronics must have raised the attention of Office of Fair Trading as they're practises are simply unjust and set up to screw customers.

I bought a set of panasonic

Anonymous (not verified) — Tue, 09/08/2011 - 9:23pm

I bought a set of panasonic phones from them in april 2011 after recommendation from a friend. They used Fedex to deliver and from what i remember, it came in 2 days. The price was reduced a week after my purchase but i was really impressed when they refunded me the difference. One of the handsets recently developed a fault and i was a bit nervous after reading the above comments. But the whole thing was sorted in a week. All you need to do is fill out an online returns form they have. Having had the same issue with Amazon, ligo were far quicker in their handling. It was also nice to be able to talk to someone.

Paid for express delivery -

Anonymous (not verified) — Sun, 04/09/2011 - 9:30am

Paid for express delivery - my phones arrived in 3 days instead of 2. Ligo refunded my express delivery charge without me asking, so that was quite impressive. Everything ok so far - one of our neighbours bought from them too - got there phones next day. They seem to use Royal Mail and Home delivery network.

I am a regular buyer of goods

Anonymous (not verified) — Fri, 16/09/2011 - 5:14pm

I am a regular buyer of goods over the web from large and small retailers alike. My recent experience with Ligo was certainly the worst customer service I've ever experienced. When I placed the order I got the usual confirmation and funds were taken from my Credit card immediately. After waiting a week and no shipping confirmation I contacted them by email and was told this was out of stock despite showing in stock on the website. There was no proactive contact to advise of delays. Another week passed and still no sign of order. Had to contact them again. More emails and more excuses (problem at warehouse, system failure etc). Eventually I cancelled my order. I was told I would get a credit card refund within 5 working days. Another week passed and still no refund on my card. Emailed again. Was then told it had not been done yet and would take up to 10 working days to reach my account. I'm still waiting. I have since had to get my credit card company involved. I would advise anyone to stay well away from this company. They treat customers with utter contempt.

I bought a £200 set of phones

Anonymous (not verified) — Sat, 15/10/2011 - 10:39am

I bought a £200 set of phones from Logo afte reading very good reviews on their website.  However, although in many ways the phones were fine, they also had a number of drawbacks. On three seperate ocassions I attempted to post constructive reviews or feedback about this but this never appeared: I conclude that they are censoring the feedback they allow to be posted - given that it is all positive.  Subeseuqneltly one phone has developed a fault: I cannot get Ligo to even respond to return, repair or replace the phone. They may be cheap but when things go wrong they fail. Is it worth it?

This all very dodgy indeed.

IT Xprt (not verified) — Fri, 11/11/2011 - 11:47am

This all very dodgy indeed. Loads of complaints on several websites. Then like magic we have very pleased customers explaining how good everything from returns to delivery is. Woo just fill out the web form for returns.

Id be interested to know what IP address these customers are coming from.

Think conpanies should concentrate on making an honest profit rather than bull

I've had problems with this

Mary (not verified) — Mon, 30/04/2012 - 12:44pm

I've had problems with this company too.  Placed an order for over £1k for headsets, a rather lovely young man called to say they'd be with me by the weekend but I'm STILL waiting.  I've tried their call centre, but to no avail (waiting for 20 mins!).  I've tried their rapid response form online (2 hour reply), but 6 days later I'm still waiting!

Stay clear of this company is my advice!

Ordered a quad set of phones

Anthony (not verified) — Mon, 30/04/2012 - 1:49pm

Ordered a quad set of phones from Ligo three hours before their deadline of free next day delivery, as I needed these urgently I even paid extra for express delivery, now four days later no phones, no reply from my e-mails and they are not answering their phones. Wish I had seen other comments from people who had listed their experiences with this company.

Bought from them 3-4 times in

James W (not verified) — Wed, 09/05/2012 - 3:35pm

Bought from them 3-4 times in recent years. Their service used to be exceptional. The last purchase didnt go as well though - the delivery company delivered in 5 days. I had paid for 2-3 days. To their credit, my express delivery was refunded promptly and i did get an apologetic email. My only advice would be to use a different courier.
