Took my car in to get two disc pads replaced but was told I needed four. (Was not shocked by this as was aware they were on a form of commission). Left the car in perfect condition but when I came to pick the car up, there was a huge crack in the windscreen. The manager denied that Kwik Fit caused the crack and stated I left the car in their car park at my own risk. The manager also stated that it is likely that the tax disc caused my windscreen to shatter. I took the car to RAC to get the windscreen to be replaced at my own expense. RAC did not think it was likely that a tax disc holder would cause stress to the windscreen. I wrote an e-mail of complaint and received a call from a manager in Edinburgh who confirmed they would not hold themselves liable and I would not be compensated. He then referred to me as "pal" on the phone which is not the most suitable term of address to an aggreived customer. The bottom line is that if these people were talented mechanics, the would be working for Bentley or BMW. Go to a reputible garage and warn everyone you know never to use Kwik Fit as they appear to excel in incompetence and poor customer service.
