The gift with a sting in the tail

Business review:

I received a gift experience voucher in a pretty box with an Activation Number, which had to be activated before I could make a booking for a 'Vineyard Tour and Tastings'. When I input the activation number my voucher was displayed on the web page confirming all my details.

It then asked for a Booking Number, which apparently could be found on the receipt from the shop. I wonder how many people, when buying a gift will enclose the receipt showing the price of the gift. No booking number means the voucher is worthless.

I have received three experience vouchers in the past and none have required this. My conclusion is that 'Gift Ideas for Two' make it difficult for people to use their vouchers and that their main source of profit is unused vouchers. Government should legislate to force these companies to return unused vouchers less an admin fee.
